How to Add Story Points To The Issue – Jira Basics [2020]

 

Follow the steps below to Add Story Points to an Issue

Click on Jira icon>Go to Jira Settings >Go to Issues> Go to Custom Fields > Search Story Point > Click on Three Dots (right side of the Story Point)>Click on Configuration>Click on Edit Configuration> select an Issue Type(Story/Task/Subtask)>click on ‘Modify‘ button.

 

To check if it’s done are not,  follow the step below.

Goto Projects (Choose a Project) > Click On ‘+‘ Sign (on left side) >Go to Configure Fields >Click on Where is My field > Search Story Points.

If story Point is present then Good, if not then follow steps below to fix it.

Go to Project Settings >Go to Fields > Click Right Pen icon (Top-Right side) >Find Story Points > Click on ‘Screen’ button> select appropriate options >Click on ‘Update’ button.

Follow the steps below to Create Sprint in Jira.

Go to Projects > Select a Project > Click On Backlog (in the left panel)> Click On Create Sprint > Rectangular Box is created > Click On Three Dots (Top-Right side of the box) >Add Sprint Name and Sprint Goal >click on ‘Update’ button.

Drag and drop stories to add them to the New Created Sprint>Click on ‘Start Sprint‘ button> Add Sprint Duration, Start and End Date> Click on the ‘Start‘ button.

Scrum has a Backlog and an Active sprint. Active sprint is what the team is working on and in the backlog, you can create tickets and sprints. You can create stories, tasks, bugs, etc. and move them to sprint through drag and drop.

To create a project, click on Create Project>Classic Project>(Choose) Scrum.

To start a sprint, click on the ‘Start Sprint’ button. A pop up will appear where you will enter sprint duration, start and end date, and Sprint goal and click on the ‘Start’ button.

To see reports, click on the ‘Reports’ side tab and select any of the reporting methods from the options.
