How to use Labels in Jira

 

Follow the steps below to Use (Create and Search) a Label In Jira

To Create a Label:

Go to Projects > Select a Project > Open an Issue > Go to Labels (Right sidebar) > Name the Label > Click on Mark.

To Search a Label:

Go to Search Icon (Left Side) > Click on Advance Search For Issue > Click on More > Find the Label (In dropdown list) > Search the Label (In Find Label Search Box)/

Follow the steps below to Create a Stroy in JIRA

Click on ‘+ sign (Left side) > Choose Story from Issue Type (Dropdown list) > Write a Summary (A short overview of the Story) > Write Description (details of the story) > Click on ‘Create’ button.

Below are Basic Story Writing Tips:

  • The summary needs to be very Short and Concise.
  • Add a summary at the start of the Description.
  • Add acceptance criteria (when the acceptance criteria are met, we consider the story as completed) after the storyline.
  • Add a description with as much information as possible to explain the business logic of the Story.
  • Attach all the required resources/assets.

How to Add Story Points To The Issue – Jira Basics [2020]

 

Follow the steps below to Add Story Points to an Issue

Click on Jira icon>Go to Jira Settings >Go to Issues> Go to Custom Fields > Search Story Point > Click on Three Dots (right side of the Story Point)>Click on Configuration>Click on Edit Configuration> select an Issue Type(Story/Task/Subtask)>click on ‘Modify‘ button.

 

To check if it’s done are not,  follow the step below.

Goto Projects (Choose a Project) > Click On ‘+‘ Sign (on left side) >Go to Configure Fields >Click on Where is My field > Search Story Points.

If story Point is present then Good, if not then follow steps below to fix it.

Go to Project Settings >Go to Fields > Click Right Pen icon (Top-Right side) >Find Story Points > Click on ‘Screen’ button> select appropriate options >Click on ‘Update’ button.

How to Create Workflow in Jira – Jira Basics [2020]

 

Follow the step below to Create Workflow in Jira

Click on Jira Icon (Top-left ) > Go to Jira setting (on the left side panel)> Click on Issues>  Click on ‘Add Workflow’ button(Top-Right)>Give it a Name> Click on ‘Add’ button.

To Add status in the Workflow

Click on ‘Add Status’ button>Give it a Name>click on ‘Add’ button

 

To Add Transition between the status

Click on ‘Add Transition’ button>select From and To Status (in the popup)>add a Name and Description> Click on ‘Add‘ button.

Add a Column on Scrum Board – Jira Basics Tutorial [2020]

 

Follow the steps below to add a column to your Project.

Go to Projects > Select a Project > Go to Active sprints > Click on Three Dots (Top-Right)> Go to Board Setting > Go to Columns

Click on ‘Add column’ button (Right side)> Name the column.

To add status to your Column

Click on ‘Add Status‘ button> Select the Name and CATEGORY> Click on the ‘Add’ button.

You must be an administrator to add Status.
